I try not to voice my opinion on matters that usually stir up controversy, but enough is enough. I have listened to it long enough. I do not wish to demean anyone, but I can no longer sit by and allow false doctrines to be taught without any opposition. Now you may feel that I am teaching wrong doctrine and that is certainly your right. I just ask that you check it out in the Word of God.
I recently heard a prominent member of the Church severely chastise a new believer on Facebook and go in to a long speech about what he must do to make sure he was saved. They went on and on about what the new believer was required to do to be part of their local congregation. It was appalling! Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Before you fly into a rage, let me explain.
Let me make clear here at the outset that I am not condoning sin in any form or fashion. I believe we must do everything in our power to keep from sinning or grieving the Holy Spirit. There is clearly a place to teach new believers and help them in their walk but there is an alarming amount of Christians out there today who are teaching a doctrine of works. Many teach that once you give your heart to God, you can never sin again. If you do, then you are lost.
I will agree that there is a fine line here, but it all boils down to this –> There is absolutely nothing that you can do to save yourself! Your salvation is a gift from God. The Bible teaches that God’s Grace is a gift so that nobody could brag. But this is exactly what people are doing. This “holier that thou” attitude is not Biblical.
Now, I can hear many of you saying that I am making light of sin even though I just told you a paragraph ago that I am completely against sin. You might say that about me but I might say that you are devaluing the sacrifice of Jesus. Jesus died and rose again for our sin almost 2000 years ago. He will never do it again. He died for our sins–> Past, Present, and Future.
I hear some of you saying, “You mean to tell me that Jesus died for sins that I haven’t even committed yet?”
Yes, that is exactly what I mean. You better hope that He did because if He didn’t, we would all be lost because He died for our sins many, many years ago. He will not be crucified over and over again because people keep sinning.
There is nothing that we can add or need to add to the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Our “works” will not and cannot save us. Our freedom from sin does give us the opportunity to do good works out of love for God and others.
Are you struggling? Do you need help? A miracle? Let me give you a message today from God and His Holy Word. God wants to help you! Lets look at King Jehoshaphat of Israel. (2 Chronicles 20)
He was in some real trouble. A great army was coming against him. What is coming against you? Fear? Worry? Finances? Depression? Defeat? What is troubling you? Does there seem no way out? What can you do? Lets look at what Jehoshaphat did.
Verse 3 says that he set himself to seek the Lord. He knew that with God anything is possible. He knew where to turn. He and the whole multitude began to pray and verse 14 says the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahziel. Wow. We can pray the Holy Spirit into action! The Holy Spirit told the people not to be afraid; not even of this great army coming against them! He says dont be afraid or dismayed because the battle is the Lord’s not theirs!
When we put our faith into action, calling upon our Lord in trust and expectation, we can be sure He is there to help and deliver! The Holy Spirit went on to say to the people that they should stand still and see the salvation of the Lord! Do not fear for the Lord is with you.
Then a funny thing happened (especially by today’s standards). The people and the King believed the Holy Spirit and began worshiping. They believed Him so much that they went out toward the invading army singing and praising God! When God saw their act of faith, the Bible says the Lord ambushed the enemy.
Paul said in Romans chapter four that Abraham believed that God was able to perform what He has promised. Do you believe? I hope you do.
There is nothing that come against you that God can’t handle. The bigger the problem, the greater the power of God! Take a stand today and believe that God will do what the Bible says. Turn all over to Him and see the salvation of the Lord and His mighty power in your life.

Were our forefathers really Christians? Was our country founded on Biblical principles? Are we living in the last days? What are some of the signs of the end? Do we really need to stand with Israel?
These are just a few of the questions that will be addressed in our upcoming seminars.
We are pleased to announce that our seminars will resume in October. There are two scheduled for the month at wonderful locations in Eastern Kentucky.
The Seminars are a great learning and training experience. Topics covered are The Christian History of the United States, Bible Prophecy, and Israel. Every participant receives a certificate of completion and extensive study materials. The seminars are taught by Rev. Gregory Davidson, D.D.
First time participants receive a discount. Join us for fellowship and to study the Word of God.
Does it really matter who you vote for? Does your vote really count? I would answer with a resounding yes. Perhaps now more than ever, your vote as a Christian is very important. The reasons are obvious. I recently debated an atheist who was adamant in his stand that it doesn’t matter if we have a Christian leader or not. He said we were foolish for even wanting Christian leaders. This is truly sad. Atheists and agnostics are doing a wonderful job at the moment aren’t they? LOL.
I would like to nominate three people for public office: Shadrach, Meshac, and Abed-nego. These three know how to take a stand for God. You can read about them and their resilient faith in Daniel Chapter 3. You see, they were officials in a vast kingdom. Laws and regulations were being passed that were against the will of God. For taking a stand against the majority, they were singled out and threatened not only with removal but with death! Still, they stood strong. The rest is Bible history. They were thrown into the fiery furnace and guess what? God shows up and delivers them!
Wouldn’t it be great to have leaders like that today who would take a stand for God? I believe that if we all took a stand for Godly principles, God would show up and deliver us too!
There may not be a Shadrach on the ballot, but we should vote for candidates who make God a priority in their lives. We should vote for candidates who also stand with Israel. We can all also pray for our country and our leaders.
Lets make an effort to vote for those who put God first! The answer is not more funding, more bailouts, or more committees–the answer is Re-Uniting our Nation Under God.
This message has been a long time coming.
It is no secret that there are many here in our region who are suffering from alcohol and/or drug addiction. I have felt this message in my heart for so long but I have neglected to share it. I realize that this is my error. I hesitated in the past because I felt as if it would hurt the feelings of some in the Church. I now realize that this was wrong and I have asked for forgiveness. I have touched on this subject before but not in detail. If you are offended by this message, I suggest you take it up with God because He is responsible for the Bible.
Firstly, for those of you who are suffering from addiction or some other issue, I want to apologize for my tardiness and ask for your forgiveness. I have not stood up for you as I should and I am very sorry. I want you to know that how you have been treated by many people is not from God. God is there for you and He loves you. He understands your condition better than anyone. There is nothing that you can do that will surprise Him. He wants to take care of you and help you. That being said, He wants you to submit to Him and do your very best. He knows that you are not perfect and that you WILL make mistakes. But He wants to deposit the Holy Spirit into your very being to help and guide you. There is NOTHING in your past that He will not forgive. NOTHING!
Secondly, there is nothing wrong with us in the Body of Christ wanting to help with missions overseas. Our ministry is active in missions all over the world. But I am in agreement with Billy Graham in that the biggest mission field is right here outside our doors. Eastern Kentucky, in my opinion, is one of the most ripe mission fields for harvest in the world. What makes it even more important is the fact that these are our people! The answer to our regions problems is not legislation, more funding, or more committee’s, it is Jesus Christ!
Now, I know that there are a few Churches out there who have taken a stand on this issue and have made some progress, but overall we need to reach out with the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. I know that there are some people out there who do not want help but I can say very confidently that the majority want help. These are those that the arms of the Church should embrace instead of push away. I know many Christians who run from those who need help the most. Have you ever wondered how Jesus might approach this issue? Do you think He would run and shy away? That would be a good question to ask Matthew and his friends or the prostitute that cried at Jesus’ feet.
If you are suffering and held captive by anything, I want you to be confident that Jesus knows how you struggle. He knows how you scratch your way through what seems like a never ending cycle. He sees how you are treated by others. He loves you and wants to help.
Over the next few weeks, we are going to be addressing this issue full speed ahead. If you would like to talk with someone, please feel free to contact me at anytime and it will always be confidential. I feel that right now God has planted that seed of hope in your heart. There is hope my friends and a bright and joyous future. How do I know? Because I believe God and I know that He is faithful!!

God Bless You.
Have you ever wanted to write or say something that you had a hard time expressing? Not because of ignorance, but because there seemed to be no words to describe what you wanted so badly to relate. I have this problem often when I try to describe my love and gratefulness to God and His unconditional love. He works in my life so many different ways.
I lived a very foolish life before He came to my rescue. Since then, He has been very gracious and merciful. The way He has led me and blessed me is very wonderful and thoughtful. I will try to explain.
Ever since I called upon Him in the most dire of circumstances, He has answered me every time. When He first came into my heart, I fell in love with His Word. I tell Him often, but He knows it. I began studying the Bible with a fervor. Often, I would learn of a resource or book that I wanted for my studies. I can’t tell you how many times He has supplied them in a very loving and gracious way. Knowing that I can’t afford the, He provides them. Time after time, I would go into a Goodwill or thrift store and there would be what I wanted at a fraction of the cost. These incidents are not simply coincidences. The odds that these particular resources would be there for me are astronomical. Friends, this has happened too many times for me to tell you them all. Currently, I have well over 1000 books in my library.
Well today was another one of those days and it has been very special to me. I have been praying and seeking God’s direction in my life on many different issues for the past couple of months. My wife and I stopped at a local thrift store today. When we go in, we always head for the books. Today was no exception. We glanced at the books and continued browsing in other parts of the store. Then something told me to go back to the books. As I looked, I found a very old copy of a biography of General George Custer. Being a history student, I thought this was the “find.” I kept looking and came across a copy of “NIGHT” by Elie Wiesel. I knew that he had won a Nobel Prize for the book recounting his experience in the Holocaust. I had always wanted to read it, but still I almost put it back. In the end, I bought it.
Later that evening, I felt a strong urge to pray and submit myself to God. A little while later, I decided to check out the book. I was unable to get through the Introduction without crying and feeling the strong presence of God. I will not get into the details because it would require you read the book. I highly recommend it! It is about a young Jewish boy who survived the Holocaust. As I read, God answered me and reaffirmed me. It has been a great blessing.
Awesome. Great. Wonderful. Incredible. Super. Overwhelming. Love. Grace………. These words seem very weak when trying to describe God. Praise and Glory and Honor are His forever. My heavenly Father is everything to me.

How would you rate your faith?
Good. Bad. Average. As big as a mustard seed? The Christian life all boils down to faith. In my estimation and experience, many times those who say they have great faith actually have little faith. They are also usually those who criticize others for their lack of faith.
I have heard of people nearly thrown out of Church because they had a lapse of faith. Everyone has their moments of doubt somewhere along the line. It is certainly not grounds for throwing person out of Church. I have seen people chastised and talked about because they have had doubts about their faith. While we should encourage and build up our brothers and sisters in Christ, we should not think less of them because they struggle in their faith at times. I will tell you why.
Jesus called John the Baptist the greatest man born of a woman. John was chosen to be the forerunner of Jesus. Boy, John must have been full of faith and very holy. Wait a minute! John himself had flagrant doubts about Jesus. Remember, John sent some of his own team to Jesus to ask if He was the one or should they look for someone else! Did Jesus condemn John for this? No, He went into a discourse about John being the forerunner and a great man. Now this is not to say that we commend poor faith, but it does say that we don’t condemn others. We know that God knows all things. God picked John to be the forerunner of Jesus knowing that he would doubt one day. This says so much about the grace of God that we will look at in another series.
Someone once said that a faith like Job’s was the result of being tested like Job. Our faith will be tested but that is how we grow and how God works in our life.
I had a revelation a couple of years ago that summed up faith for me. It comes from Romans in Chapter Four. Paul said that Abraham believed God was able to do what He had promised. It is that simple! Many people believe in God but do you believe He is able to do what He has promised? Think a moment before you answer that question.
The Bible is full of promises for you. Contrary to popular belief, the perfect sacrifice of Jesus provided much more than the awesome gift of eternal life; it provided for an abundant life right now!
You see, many people believe that Jesus was the Son of God, but they will not trust Him with their finances or health when the Bible promises that He will meet our every need and that by His stripes we were healed. The list of real promises goes on and on.
Resolve today to believe that God is able, and will do what He has promised you. Get out your Bible and look at all He has promised you.
God Bless You,
As Jesus wept over the fate of Jerusalem, which killed the prophets and stoned those God had sent, He said:
“How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not!” (Luke 13:34)
The desolation was coming when Jerusalem would be destroyed. And yet they did nothing.
Times are rough in our nation and many say that there are tough times ahead. Moral values continue to spiral downward. There is no doubt that this country is on the decline. But it doesn’t have to be so.
We can heed God’s Word and turn back to Him. God built this nation and He can surely rebuild it! The ball is in our court.
